That no one is able (or willing?) to stop all this.

here in New Orleans we used to be filled with terror of stories of the historical societies' power to destroy your life with lawsuits & social exclusion, turns out it was all a lie & the only thing -- the ONLY thing -- that matters to those who claimed to wish to preserve "history" was their racism & misogyny

they would see every building in DC destroyed & every old house in New Orleans turned into an AirBnB -- just as long as no woman or POC is ever free again
