@koen hey, excited to hear this.
What data centre(s) are your VMs hosted in, and do you support BGP announcement for BYOIP/ASN?
Sending love from rLab, the hackerspace in Reading, UK, where I'm working on dial up systems.

@kline it is hosted from the Gerbrandytoren (a TV tower central in the Netherlands).

Our hackerhosting offering currently does not include BYOIP/ASN, but we could certainly talk about that.

What we set out to do with hackerhosting is have a service that is available for hackers (originally just in .nl) that is affordable and 'just works' so you don't have to host your stuff with companies that are mostly in it for the money. We use 100% open source in everything we do.

@koen sounds very cool and a lot of fun, I didn't realise people were squeezing (mini?) datacentres into such infra.
I'm all for fully open, ready-use VM hosting, given the current crop of non-free hyperscalers.

I'm mostly interested in small points of presence for my own network, especially in locations that have IXPs. Doing more and more of my own infrastructure and self hosted services is my current interest.

@kline @koen those towers are quite big, with many floors that used to be filled with big transmitters.
So there is a lot of space for heavy equipment, plenty of power, and good connectivity. Excellent data center locations.
@wheeze_NL it makes sense when you think about it! I know it's true of a lot of legacy telecoms stuff as well.
Big exchange office buildings with floors of rack space that used to be dedicated to bays and bays of switching equipment, now outperformed by incredibly dense digital voice equivalents.
