I made a neighbour’s unwanted picket fence panel into a quirky, rustic gate for the recycled chain link fenced bed. Debating whether to paint it (green or berry red) or not.
Maybe for future colour I’ll be able to make enough blue dye from the woad that’s growing at the front of the plot. #Allotment #Gardening
I used to grow woad! When it blooms, the little wild bees adore it
@NilaJones The pollinators loved its flowers last year and it flowers earlier than a lot of things do here.

No I didn't. I ended up moving out of that house
@NilaJones I’ve never known anyone that’s grown it before. I will have to read up on it.
There’s one plot holder here who uses woad (given to her from this plot) for painting with but I haven’t seen her in a while to speak to her about it.
