@SnoopJ not even the Nazis were that much in denial of reality, cuz they literally set out ot build and maintain weather stations in the arctic as those are vital datapoints for meterologists for their war.

@kkarhan @SnoopJ well, the thing is they don't want to end weather forecasting. They want to hobble it until it sucks too much to keep, sell the burning husk to AccuWeather, and then have the federal government fund the private sector rehabilitation.

@vathpela @SnoopJ yeah, and the #Privatization of #PublicServices like #WeatherForecast only results in higher costs, worse service and less #accessibility.

  • I think more weather services should be run like @DeutscherWetterdienst ยน as a public utility & state agency focussing on safety & security for everyone as meterology and climate change apply to everyone and not considering these is even more ignorant in terms of "national security" and "public safety" than preventing people from becoming the next Nuclear Boy Scout ever could...
