Just got back from Project Hail Mary. Loved the novel. Was worried about the adaptation to screen. They nailed it. Big time. #AmazeAmazeAmaze
On the other hand, the PRE-movie experience was excruciating. Literally 40 MINUTES of ads & trailers before the film started. I was a theater manager myself in the 90’s…back then it was 15 min at most and that was almost entirely trailers, which are the only thing which should air before the film.
Of the trailers, the only ones I have any real desire to see are the Sheep Detective with Hugh Jackman and Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, which was a perfect trailer in that it’s intriguing without spoiling anything (plus, it appears to be an original story by Spielberg).
The Michael Jackson biopic could be good but I suspect they’re gonna gloss over or minimize the very young elephant in the room.
The Masters of the Universe trailer is appropriately big and dumb. I’m still astonished they spent $200 million to adapt an. embarrassingly badly-animated 22-minute toy commercial from the ‘80’s, but it worked for Transformers so…
