The Iran War is Revealing the Messy Middle of Our Renewable Energy Transition

I find these articles rather annoying as they ignore the messy reality of energy and petrochemicals for make believe.

Energy isn't fungible. Much of the world runs on diesel and electricity is not currently (or with any technology on the horizon) a substitute.

And the world runs on petrochemicals. From pharmaceuticals, to plastics, to microchips.

I don't like that fact much - but I don't see how we change things until we face up to that reality. Maybe this crisis will be the wakeup call we need.
