Gearing up for a wandering scooter ride. Not sure where I will go! The wandering typology is my jam #scooter #weekend
I have never gone to Hobart on my scooter - about 200km on a 125cc motorcycle 👀 feels risky! Top speed 90km/h on Highway 1 🤣🤣🤣 not today 🛵 #scooter #weekend
@SeaFury That's just sensible. I wouldn't want to try it either. It's already slightly scary meeting big trucks in a small car, never mind a scooter.
@kodiacbear I might go if I map a back road route (east coast maybe) but that might double the kms!!!

@SeaFury @kodiacbear

You could go over the mountains. Go up to Great Lake and then down to the Derwent Valley

@chestas Is that road all paved? I went that way a decade ago and there was 30km of gravel 🤣@kodiacbear
@SeaFury @chestas @kodiacbear sealed the whole way.
It is definitely the best way to travel between the north and south.
@ibk OOH looking!!!! @chestas @kodiacbear

@SeaFury @ibk @kodiacbear

Yes, paved. Go Longford, Cressy, Great Lake, Bothwell and then down to Derwent Valley

@chestas The Poatina hair pins look really scary, prob worse coming down than up @ibk @kodiacbear

@SeaFury @ibk @kodiacbear

They aren't too bad in my small car, but a bike is different so I won't try to advise. One thing is that the road is very quiet

@chestas I have been to Poatina village on scooty, it is just below this section @ibk @kodiacbear

@SeaFury @ibk @kodiacbear

You can head to Westbury and then straight up. There's still a few bends, but no hairpins that I remember

@chestas Is highlands lakes road paved all the way? @ibk @kodiacbear

@SeaFury @ibk @kodiacbear

Yes, paved. The road to Bothwell is paved, whereas the road south west towards Bronte Park isn't paved.
