Looking for explanations…And this is what should concern every woman and every person who loves & cares about girls & women. That all people identifying as girls & women could be called to prove their “femaleness”. From a young age I have pushed against narrow definitions of “femininity”.
Why it is anyone else’s business to know or care about another’s sex or gender outside of intimate relationships is beyond me. And obviously, for some people it’s not even an issue within intimate relationships.
I get that some female athletes might feel worried that a trans athlete might possibly have an advantage, and I don’t know who to believe about whether that is a real possibility, but statistically it seems hugely insignificant.
The real anxiety is clearly being experienced by transphobes, for no real reason whatsoever.
