I own most console brands but most of the time I'm using emulators on my PC/laptop for #gaming (I'm getting into pain very fast when using a mouse: So gamepads are my favorite input method - also couch compatible).
What always makes me confused and therefore quite angry is, when changing from a Nintendo game to a game at another platform.
Do much that nowadays I force one half of my platforms to behave like the other half to have a uniform experience. So I don't have to rewire my brain cells all the time.

So let's cut to the cheese 🧀! What's your favorite #gamepad fire button assignment?
Switch Style. Primary button at the right.
Sony/MS Style. Primary button at the bottom.
What?!
Poll ends at .

@herr_irrtum Primary at the bottom for me, having not grown up with Nintendo systems.

I've heard that, in the Japanese release for most Playstation games, the primary button is on the right. Some PS1 games did that in all regions, too. I know Metal Gear Solid did.

The circle is supposed to be "accept" and the X is "decline." But the rest of the world thought "bottom = default button" was more intuitive.

@herr_irrtum Re: Arcade
Wherever the buttons are on the Arcade Cabinet...
@herr_irrtum I don't have a muscle memory from nintendo clones and megadrive from my childhood (how 3 button layout can even translate into modern gamepads?), and now I prefer PS style
