@avatastic Both, at least in my case, but I always knew. Even as a child, I spent a lot of time in a dissociative haze because I consciously didn't want to be there, and trying to think about my situation or remember things was like reaching into a bag filled with snakes. After a point, I didn't want to remember. But you can't always help that either.

I remember almost nothing before I was ~11¹, that's just having a very bad memory, right? Right‽ 🙈🙉
