"Yikes, here's a HUGE story that it seems not enough folks are reporting on yet. Drone swarms of unknown origin this month apparently attacked an important Air Force base—'the first time a US airbase was temporarily put out of operation in wartime, something that never happened even in World War II.' "

"Stephen Bryen, former deputy under secretary of defense. Some speculation, but the bare facts are disturbing enough."

@_L1vY_ I know the drones at Ft McNair in DC were reported but not having the ability in any way to protect the nuclear triad from these drones is a dereliction of duty. And the state actor who did it left the lights on so we could see them. That is hubris and the fact that a country could pull off this hugely complicated operation on our soil is deeply disturbing. @cowanon

@lawyersgunsnmoney
How do you know it's a state actor?

@_L1vY_ @[email protected]

@LillyHerself That was the surmise of the author based upon the technical capabilities of the drones themselves, the in-country support required to carry out the attacks, the sophistication of the attacks themselves and the target selection. I agree with the assessment. @_L1vY_

@lawyersgunsnmoney You don't think it might be fifth column? Thinking about those Americans who were blowing up - or was it setting on fire? - power stations.

@LillyHerself As my grandfather used to say, all I know is what I read in the papers. From what I’ve learned so far, the technology (offensive and defensive) tactics and operations are too sophisticated and require too much support to be fifth column. The electrical grid people were driving up in a pickup and breaking things so to me it isn’t comparable.
