Looking at how much I've spent on DVDs/Blu-rays over the past several years (and ignoring DVDs from the library, downloading, etc.), the monthly average (after adjusting for inflation) comes to several dollars more per month than what Netflix without ads (and after sales tax) now costs. Yay?

So ignoring every other option (Tubi, YouTube, the library, piracy, etc.) and sticking with old-school "buy a bunch of discs," I'm better off with that than ad-free Netflix as an ongoing expense?

There's Netflix with ads, but given Netflix plans to roll out AI-based ads...
