I've got former coworkers at different companies who are like "I feel weird being a vibe coder now, but they pay me well."

They've got leaderboards for token usage and I just can't see a world where companies are like "we love paying more money every time someone tries to change the code"

Either they'll stop doing that or they'll reduce the salary offered. I suspect it will be the latter because companies would rather spend money on contracts with other companies than pay their laborers.
