Oh good timing. macOS 26.4 has builtin battery charge limit for battery health.

I always turn that on my devices and I really didn't want to install something to do it.

@JoYo I set it to 85% on my MacBook Air, but I’m not sure it needs it? Battery health is still 100% after almost 3 years (bought May 2023; it’s an M2). Still, I know how batteries work end I know it’s important.
@cerebralhawks I haven't had a personal macOS since they first adopted intel.
I got the new MBA.
I mainly want to cap the battery at 80% to avoid the extra heat that is generated when I leave it plugged in.
Believe it or not but I use laptops on my lap xD

@JoYo So do I… sometimes. I thought heat was due to processor load, though both make sense.

I didn’t really think about it much, but my Wintel laptops have been too big for true “lap” usage, but even having a 15” MacBook Air, it is very comfortable to use that way.
