@janl Were you using copilot? This particular control only applies to people interacting with copilot right?

I could be wrong, but my guess is that if you were to ask a bunch of AI users if their inputs are used to train / refine models they would assume yes that’s already being done.

@kjg the copilot setting was off, the use my code for training was on when I found it. That’s still the wrong default.

@janl Understood, I don’t think there is any setting specific to using public code, I think that setting is only about your interactions with copilot. If you’re never interacting with copilot then the setting wouldn’t be applicable.
