Oh! I see... So, now if you're subscribed to a YouTube channel and they do a collaboration, with a different channel, it appears on your Subscription feed. Like, even if you had no idea the other channel existed.

All right, ok, that's neat-o.

#TodayILearned #TIL

@Yuriel Most of the time it's neat, but I unsubscribed from a channel that does good video essays because they use the collaboration feature to shove their fucking podcast channel into my feed. I do not want to listen to your horrifying current events/politics podcast.

@Gulleko Ah ha! The other shoe drops.

Yeah, what Youtube REALLY fucking needs is a way to block channels.

It's been what? Two decades, and still no such feature.

(Now that I think about it, they will never do it. They don't want you to control what you see.)

@Yuriel Yeah, I'd like an additional button below "not interested" that says "NEVER show me this channel again EVER"
but divisive bigoted content brings the ENGAGEMENT so they keep pushing it. Motherfuckers.

(this is why my youtube bookmark goes straight to my subscription feed)

@Gulleko Yeah, I've even heard the Not Interested option doesn't do shit. Or WORSE, it gives you MORE now that it knows it pisses you off. Though that might be a conspiracy theory.

(Also YES! Gamer of culture  I don't understand the aliens who use the worthless Home tab)

@Yuriel @Gulleko

I am just such a monster. I can absolutely see why people would not want to do the ruthless history pruning to make it sort-of work for cycling though a rotation of themes from the subs.
