@jfmezei Remind me what my CBB cost on that would be? :(

FFS how can the CRTC keep us at these rates.

@mWare What is the current oversubscription ratio for ISPs? If you watch Netflix of youTube on a 1gbps line, you still consume what 7 or 8mbs ? Ever since speeds rose above what you need to stream, I am unsure of how ISPs provision capacity. Sure of you donwload a program from an alternate source, you will use that 1GBPs (or download software updates etc), but streaming is no longer related to your service speed.

@jfmezei We've got very few FTTP customers as I'm resisting selling it - especially since it's 3x the cost of FTTN.

That said, the peak-time-per-user max is just over 5MBit. However the barbers, IOT, car mechanic, physiotherapists and accountant subs are doing appx zero at peak hours, so make of that what you will.

Per-pandemic that was 3-4MBit/sub, but jumped to 6-8 during the heavy lockdown times, but with a tremendous increase in outbound as people were doing video conferencing.

The other thing to bear in mind, is you kinda want your customers on the fastest connections possible, as it reduces the duty cycle of/and potential congestion from oversubscription.
