To everyone who has become dependent on LLMs to program

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the energy shocks that are are quickly solidifying into a long-term problem

Probably won't affect the cost of using them

When asked about the biggest bottleneck, Altman of OpenAI “We need to make more electrons”

Long as electrons are not 'created' /w oil or LNG, think there should be no issue

(...guy thinks generating electricity is when electrons are 'made'.. only most of the economy bet on this moron ffs)

@ekis absolutely

all the other problems with LLMs aside, i don't want to become dependent on a technology that's currently priced one or possibly two orders of magnitude lower than its actual cost and those costs are only getting worse due to models getting bigger and energy getting more expensive

@ekis Doesn't he know that there's only one?

@roknrol @ekis you beat me to it so I chose another angle. 🤣
@ekis I hear billionaires have electrons in them. 👀
@knowprose @ekis Just pop the top off, I hear.

@ekis it's fine, he has a solution: humanity just needs to build him a Dyson Sphere! /s

it's genuinely baffling that people keep throwing money at him and his ilk.
