Old Main Street dates to the 1800s. New buildings stand on old foundations. We saw Sally Mann at the opulent Paramount. After, found stairs leading down to interconnected cellars and a hallway lined with bookshelves. Push on them and they swing open to reveal hidden rooms.
On one side a Turkish lounge with low seats and a Persian rug, dim lamps on paneled walls. The other a speakeasy, where the bartender quotes Epicurus in the original Greek.
