Aw yeah, baby. It’s mango season in El Salvador 🥭 🤤

Mango trees are so prevalent that in just a couple weeks we’ll have such a surplus people will be giving them away, fresh off the tree.

So dang good 🤩

Mango season update: I have picked up off the ground 2 or 3 perfectly ripe mangoes in the parking lot in front of my apartment every day this week.

Nearly every time I take the dogs outside, there’s another fresh mango fallen from the tree in perfect condition.

Finder’s keepers 😎

My girlfriend and I walked 5 minutes down the street to a pop-up bar. We found 2 mangoes on the ground at the bar. Obviously, we’re taking them home!

These are a different variety than the tree by our apartment! These are Ciruela Mangoes, smaller, a bit sweeter.

If you’ve ever smelled a mango Starburst candy… reminds me of that kind of mango.

@josh What kind of mangos are they? I was surprised how different the flavour can be of the different varieties we get here

@belle I was unaware there were different varieties of mango 😮 I thought the only real difference was green ones which are just unripened.

We are now inquiring - the tree this one came from is outside our apartment!

@belle They call it “mango de clase” - I tried searching for an english name but can't find anything definitive 😅
@josh I didn't know anything about different varieties until recently either! Thanks, I hadn't heard of that one—crazy how many kinds there are
