Oh, this is exciting.
I have just got a spare JoyCon set to work, quite effectively, as a WiiMote and Nunchuck!
I am entering a world of possibilities!

It was a little finicky at a first. My SteamDeck had to be in the Beta Build mode so when I could combine the JoyCons when they connected and there is a bunch of settings I may need to mess about with to fine tune the Motion controls.
Now I have it working, I just need to test it out with some games, I only tried Wii Play a little bit last night, I need to... Ummm... Curate my collection, so to speak.
Something I will say, and it is probably more an issue with how I set it up, but i seem to have to recalibrate the pointer every time I boot up Dolphin, otherwise the pointer just seems to hug the right hand side of the screen.
Graciously the calibration of the pointer only takes a couple of moments!
Yeah, I am utilising Dolphin via my Steam Deck.
The biggest advantage I can see with using the JoyCons is that you could have a comparable feeling experience to using a real WiiMote and Nunchuck. Just because you have them in separate hands etc.
At the moment I have only played three games, New Super Mario Brothers, which was a bit weird feeling, but I should probably just use a single joycon for that instead of both. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, played absolutely fine, I am significantly out of practice.
I also started playing a weird game called Lost in Shadow, that's been just pointing at the moment in turns of the motion controls.
At some point I should try something a bit more motion orientated.
