My film photography has been uninspired of late. I shot an entire roll of Foma 200 in my OM-2n and don't have one frame I feel like sharing. I guess that the result of shooting through a slump. I end up with a lot of crap photos. Not sure what to do about this. Just not feeling motivated.
@tomnorthfilm Man I feel that. I’m in the same boat. Not sure if it’s the long, grey, cold winter or the state of the world seemingly everywhere, or I don’t know what. But I can’t seem to see anything lately and like you I can’t bring myself to share crappy “getting through it” shots just for the sake of it.
Whatever it is though I’m just hoping upon hope that it passes. My thoughts are with you too.
@misterchrisjones I hope it passes soon for both our sakes.
@tomnorthfilm Put a folding camera in your pocket and go for a walk. Dont worry about taking a photo, just clear your mind and something will inspire you eventually.
@tomnorthfilm maybe try a lens you'd never normally use? Sometimes it helps me. If I got out with a 28mm (that's the widest non-pinhole I have), wide angle is such a different PoV that it forces me to think about things a bit more, and tends to make me experiment a bit. Then if none of the photos work, it can at least be a different challenge to work out why.
(none of this will stop existential dread or shit weather though).
