I implore software developers to

PLEASE

USE

your OWN FUCKING SOFTWARE

before forcing it on others

especially when you make major changes to the interface, or add stuff to the interface

and also developers who don't consider accessibility need to be given the access problem until they understand the issue with the shit they're making

@fluffy I'm of the opinion that all developers should be forced to use their software on a laptop with an unusually small screen and an internet connection that randomly drops or slows down to dial-up speeds

I think making them use their software for at least a week with a screen reader would be an excellent addition to my list

@Canageek yeah that too

also force them to use it without a mouse

@Canageek and they also need to use it in a non-trivial capacity and not just, like, basic functional validation
@fluffy Oh yeah, like give them a stack of CDs that they have to enter into the system or whatever. and if they don't finish the task without using a mouse or keyboard or over dial up or whatever then they don't get paid for that week
@Canageek exactly
