THE gravest crime against humanity.
3 x NO from guess who (Argentina, Israel and US)
Moral failure from UK and EU member states like oh France, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal...
Christianity itself should be in the dock on this one. For justifying the gravest crime in the name of that god and ensuring continental-scale cultural destruction.
@LaChasseuse we would no way agree, we have a major theory on ritual and religion as the invention of women. We know what hunter-gatherer women do with ritual, in pre-patriarchal mode, and do NOT think patriarchy invented religion. Of course it coopted religion in recent history but ritual and religious experience are far older than patriarchy. I mean orders of magnitude older. Precise dating on women's ritual activity 160 KA, patriarchy depends where but within 20 KA, some places much more recent. Yes land holding and large livestock underlie patriarchy, but certain more settled hunter-gatherer environments also enabled it.
But this discussion, valuable as it is, strays away from the main point about xtianity's massive responsibility to the descendants of survivors of slavery, and recognizing how xtianity facilitated this greatest crime.
