From what I understand I'm pretty much the only one in Stockholm who misses these old subway trains.
They had personality. Riding in one felt like being in a cozy cave. A cozy cave full of old subway smells, loud shrieks, and violent shakes that required Olympic level balance. And sometimes tags and graffiti all over the interior and exterior reminded the morning commuters of the existence of those who live different lives and reject certain norms.
Personality.

@macberg no - there's an equivalent nostalgia in Melbourne (good burgers too) that has three old ones on a rooftop just out of the city
@Thegriffyn That's a neat concept.
@macberg The 25 & 26 lines in Nacka have a similar interior and many times I've felt the loud shrieks and violent shakes you mention. I wonder if their trains are the same models as the one you mentioned? Either way, I get the nostalgia - they certainly have more personality than the more modern trains. I hesitate to say I'd also prefer riding with them daily over the modern variety, as I do enjoy the quiet mornings in relative silence. Still, I think people should have the option to experience riding them, if only to experience a momentary glimpse of bygone days (maybe also human ingenuity?)
@kamatahvel Yes they are very similar. I don't remember what the difference is but as a passenger it's not a very big difference to riding on the old subway trains. I do get the point of silent mornings, and to be fair I never had to rely on the old subway to take me places in the mornings.
