I sometimes wonder what I would do were I no longer a lawyer (but assuming that I still needed to work).

Virtually none of the work I do actually requires me to be a solicitor. I don't tend to touch any "reserved" stuff. So I could just carry on as I am today. But that aside...

I don't know.

Perhaps three or four different things (businesses), rather than just one main thing?

@neil I was joking today to one of my colleagues that a sign of a senior software engineer is that they know that their "fuck it" career would be.

@neil I've seen such a wonderful collection of answers over the years.

Photographers, cabinet makers, blacksmiths, farmers, quilters, writers, ski instructors. It's a surprisingly deep and personal question, one has to be a bit careful asking it
