Whats the Italian 🇮🇹 term for #pasta cooked in sauce, rather than water?

The Yanks call it "one-pot pasta", which feels crude. I want poetry.

Today, I was ahead of schedule, so I decided to take the extra time needed to cook the pasta in sauce. Instead of reducing the sauce, add liquid. Mix in the pasta, and cook slowly. After 30 mins, fhe result is pasta full of flavour.

Is the technique banned in Italy, like onion & garlic together?

Or is there a vowel-lsden word, full of A I O?
