idk man I feel like the history and infestation of kudzu as an invasive plant consuming the US & costing millions of dollars a year in damage should be studied across academia as another prime example of why crusty old white guys can't be trusted with shit
like not only was kudzu brought here and planted invasively, but was grown and ENCOURAGED to be planted around houses and then forgot about until it became a Problem and even then the dept of agriculture was like "nah it's fine" while kudzu is literally capable of uprooting entire trees
the thing about plants is that they're really good at what they do, so combine that with something invasive that doesn't have any natural means to stop it and u end up with a 400 pound potato that's capable of surviving freezing temperatures, droughts, blights and being thrown through a woodchipper
