I came across this screenshot that plays to biases. It's pro-feminist talking about how women can succeed at chess and how the system doesn't actually care about fairness.

That bias (a good one, but still a bias) is part of why this is important for me to fact check.

Everything here is vague. No details. Even usernames are hidden.

I was able to find the source post on Twitter

However, this is not the original, as there are earlier posts elsewhere.

The original is probably this post a day before on Threads

This account appears to post a lot of generic stories not meant to be specific. I don't think this is even meant to be considered real, but fails to be clear about that.

This is almost certainly fabricated.

We don't need to make up stories about patriarchy. We have an endless supply of real horrors around us every day. Misinformation only undermines the cause.

Empowering Women (@nakedlydressed) on Threads

A teenage girl beat the reigning champion, a boy, in the regional chess tournament. He knocked the board over and stormed out. The organizers gave her the trophy in a back room. The local paper's headline read, "King Dethroned by Dark Horse." Her photo was not included. The boy was interviewed about "handling pressure." She quit competitive chess. But please, tell me about sportsmanship.
