AI bug reports went from junk to legit overnight, says Linux kernel czar

Interview: Greg Kroah-Hartman can't explain the inflection point, but it's not slowing down or going away

The Register

@glynmoody "All open source projects have real reports that are made with AI, but they're good, and they're real." 🫠

That's the sound of someone who joined a cult. Or the Linux Foundation is stepping up the pressure to not speak ill of the slop machines. Maybe both.

Yup: "The sudden increase in AI-generated reports and AI-assisted work has also spurred a parallel push to build AI into the kernel's own review infrastructure. A key piece of that is Sashiko, a tool originally developed at Google and now donated to the Linux Foundation."

@alxndr not my interpretation...

@alxndr @glynmoody Greg K-H a member of a cult?

Nope.

Seems we have extremists on both sides of the argument about the merits of AI. Greg isn't one. Nor is @sjvn.
