I'm seeing posts about the gender wage gap in the US but I'm bothered by the fact that the numbers they're pulling are averaged and race isn't addressed as being as important.
The gendered wage gap is also a racialized wage gap and women of color get ripped off far more money than white women do. Saying it's a difference of 18% on average isn't truly accurate.
intersectionality matters and glossing over the differences by race is disingenuous.
