So frustrated with the enshittified Clipper card experience. An autoreload didn't reload. Can't manually reload because NONE of their tech works. The website. The app. And they deliberately frakked their kiosks.

WTF.

I now want to kick someone dead in their ass.

Like, right in the hole. With my pointy-toed leopard print ballet flat.

Update:

Clipper: We blocked your card because it is suspected lost.

Me: [via email] I've lost all patience. Suspected by WHOM?? IT'S IN MY FREAKING HAND. And so now it won't reload $100 automatically.

Why can't your shit work.
Unfreeze my gotdamn transit card.
See screen caps.

WTF.

I realize that's not the most measured or polite response to customer service.

But GOTDAMN.

@DeliaChristina Did they shut down the kiosks? If so, why? Seems insane.

@BruceMirken

They made all the kiosks cash only.
Like...wtf.

@DeliaChristina the folks running clipper are worthless

@DeliaChristina Just great. I found my Clipper card for my upcoming visit. So it's basically useless?

WTF with these clowns?

@kagan

It could work! Then again maybe not!
Just be prepared.

@DeliaChristina Okay. I'll try it when I get there.

If it doesn't work, what are my options (as far as "being prepared")? Is there still any way I can stick some dollar bills into someplace? Or tap a bank card on something?

(Feel free to tell me to do my own research.)

@kagan

Luckily the kiosks still take cash so you can reload there.

I just dont carry cash since the before times.

@DeliaChristina Okay. Good to know about the kiosks, thank you.

I don't usually carry cash, but I can make sure to have like $20 or $40 on me for this.

@kagan @DeliaChristina most things that used to take clipper you can just tap any a chipped card or your phone or whatever

I'm not sure about other transit agencies, but you can pay by tapping a regular credit card to the Clipper reader on Muni. Or you can go to one of the Muni kiosks and have a human do the transaction to refill your Clipper card.

@kagan @DeliaChristina

@DeliaChristina
This reminds me that I got a Clipper card finally in December 2019. Wonder where it went…
