cis woman says a trans woman talking about a trans woman issue is sexist, how dare you

and we get this shit on top of everything else

fedi continues to rep itself incredibly poorly

I am so tired of this bullshit

the typo is not the issue, can we please focus on the actual problem
@tillybridges For some people here, typos are *always* the main issue :-\

@tillybridges gotta acknowledge it’s a hilarious one though…

That said do we have any indication that it’s not a dishonest account? (Bot, sock puppet…)

@MyLittleMetroid

The person tagged "@lemonlolita" (!!!) probably isn't a feminist posting in good faith? That SOUNDS like the sort of name a 4chan burnout would pick.

And, of course, espousing overblown viewpoints of your victims to try and start a fight between them is classic trolling.

Feels more like "why hasn't this shit weasel been banned yet?" to me.

@tillybridges

@tillybridges How dare you be sexiest, Tilly? 😏💕

@ann3nova @tillybridges (Edit: respecting OP's wishes.)

My apologies, Tilly.

@tillybridges I am sorry you experience that. It sucks.
@tillybridges wow. My grandmother is cis and will put a transphobe in a grave if they hurt me, this person can do better.
@tillybridges some real "All Lives Matter" bullshit right there.
@JessTheUnstill ya know, I was ruminating for an analogy, and this is it. This is the one. It really do be like that.

@tillybridges

I just want to let you know that I (as a cis woman) support your right to have your specific trans issues heard and addressed. Especially without someone being an ass about it.

I can't imagine how it feels to basically upend your whole life and fight to express who you really are, and then when you do this shit happens. I'm so sorry.

🫂❤️

@tillybridges it looks like she said "sexiest", is that the same thing? lol
@tillybridges user name is "lolita" and they are complaining about "sexism"?
@PetterOfCats @tillybridges She probably thinks she is, but that's not what she actually said.

@tillybridges far too many people have taken the idea of intersectionality and inclusivity to mean that every post or statement ever made has to be applicable to everyone otherwise it's bad and wrong.

When, in reality, it just means that more diverse voices need to be listened to on the same level as the voices of those in the majority.

Just wish the world would let trans women talk about trans women without having to add in all sorts of addendums and caveats to avoid upsetting the "but what about *me*?" people.

@TheSunnyOne @tillybridges seems people are becoming less willing to listen to others even especially if their opinion differs.

-----

It is so very important [for people] to listen to different voices and opinions and does not mean they need to agree but we need to understand and appreciate others' have different views.

Hopefully 'we' can be civil and respectful to each other in the process and sometimes we learn, tweak our opinion or even confirm our previously held view.

The second we stop listening to others is a sad day and one where we regress and those that solely attack through ignorance or intollerance may already be lost.

@tillybridges Thanks for the block recommendation! I found a couple more in the replies to that post.

People are not okay.

@tillybridges wouldn't it be nice to talk about a trans woman/femme issue without having to frame it so carefully that people don't come out of the woodwork to yell about it?!? Argh!

@tillybridges thank you for the block recommendation. I know @/[email protected] by her unhinged posts she makes on fedi

btw she is using AI generated pfp. She loves to make others uncomfortable

@tillybridges

Ahhh mastodon dot social and its err, interesting, approach to moderation. This is exactly why the (trans run and moderated) instance I am on has limited federation with it.

It isn't fediverse moderation which sucks, it is moderation on certain instances, and all we can do is call out as much as we can.

@alexadeswift the awful responses have not come from people on mastodon.social, nor all from only one or two instances. that is not the problem.
