I’m on my way back from #UndoneCS.

Since the journey to Luxembourg went so smoothly, I’ll again take the L40 bus from Luxembourg to Saarbrücken.

The bus arrived and I got a good seat.

#UndoneCS

On the road.

#UndoneCS

Next exit: #Perl. But we continue in the direction of Perl-Borg (!?).

#UndoneCS

Arrived 10 minutes early in Deutsche Bahn Land.

#UndoneCS

Hello Süwex, my old friend!

#UndoneCS

And of course, after leaving Saarbrücken Hbf with just +2, we’re now standing somewhere because the track is blocked by a broken down train.

The DB Navigator says “repairs on the catenary” and forecasts an arrival in Mannheim Hbf with +5, which seems to me suspiciously optimistic.

#UndoneCS

It seems to me that the Dutch engineer, who’s supposed to take over a cargo train in Koblenz or Duisburg, isn’t really convinced either…

And the delay has been updated to +11… And the ICE from Mannheim to Basel is announced with +5, which would be good iff we actually arrive in Mannheim with +11. Because with Deutsche Bahn, you always have to generously round up delays.

#UndoneCS

We are moving again!

#UndoneCS

Made it to Mannheim, and it was wise to already reserve a seat on the next train #ICE73.

#UndoneCS

#ICE73 just left Offenburg, and we’re still on time!

#UndoneCS

There’s a ~13-min buffer at Basel Bad Bf for trains coming from Germany. Guess how much #ICE73 is now delayed? 14 minutes!

#UndoneCS

Luckily, #ICE73 did NOT sit there for 7 minutes (as predicted by the SBB app), but arrived in Basel SBB with a delay of only 1 or 2 minutes.

This allowed me to catch the EC 67, and so @CerstinMahlow and I can have dinner at #Tibits in Bern.

So much for my #UndoneCS trip!

It seems that I got lucky: my train must have been one of the last to take the Bahn 2000 track between Olten and Berne…
