Alle 16.30 è stata convocata una riunione del gruppo di Forza Italia al Senato con all'ordine del giorno le dimissioni dell'attuale capogruppo Maurizio Gasparri e l'individuazione del nuovo. Per il successore di Maurizio Gasparri alla guida del gruppo azzurro al Senato è in pole position il nome di Stefania Craxi.
Forza Italia è in fibrillazione da ieri, da quando 14 senatori su 20 hanno sottoscritto la raccolta firme per spingere un rinnovamento all'interno del gruppo di palazzo Madama. Tra le firme ci sono quelle dei ministri Elisabetta Casellati e Paolo Zangrillo. L'ordine del giorno, firmato dal presidente Gasparri, dice tutto: "Dimissioni presidente del gruppo. Elezione nuovo presidente del gruppo".

Forza Italia has been in turmoil since yesterday, since 14 out of 20 senators signed the petition to push for a renewal within the group at Palazzo Madama.
