@zvrt I know now, not because you said so, but because I yawned just by looking at this little dinosaur :)
@merigold I'll bear that in mind when I post a picture of a sneezing bird :) Yes, birds sneeze too, even though they don't have a diaphragm and therefore don't hiccup.
@zvrt OK, and can they vomit to get rid of something foul they ate? Because I know they "vomit" to feed their youg.
@merigold They are not exactly vomiting when they feed the chicks. Birds store swallowed food in their crops before it reaches their stomachs. This is where they regurgitate food from to feed their young. Vomit from the stomach would be too acidic.
@zvrt wow, I never knew that! Thanks, you're so kind! <3
@merigold Pigeons, flamingos and some penguins can even produce a milky substance in their crop to feed the chicks. It is called "pigeon milk" (hence "ptasie mleczko" I guess)
@zvrt Yeah, it's rare enough to be the source of ptasie mleczko thing :)
@merigold @zvrt What! TIL
@mwichary @merigold just don’t research on the pigeon milk ingredients
