A day off college or work or whatever, for whatever reason. You peel yourself out of bed at 10am and turn on the TV. You have no internet, no streaming services or DVDs/videos etc. What are you going to watch on the TV for the next 5 hours?

That would mean subjecting myself to normal broadcast television with commercials. I’d rather perform home dentistry on myself.

I’ll go touch some grass instead. It’s only 5 hours, it’s not going to kill anyone to be away from a screen for half a day.

Same here. I stopped watching TV because it has everything that I hate: ads and shitty content that I do not control.
