Bond between dogs and humans dates back more than 15,000 years, study finds

Research suggests hunter-gatherers were feeding dogs and giving them ritual burials as early as the last ice age

@Wen Alice Roberts' book Tamed is well worth a read. She studies various things that have had a really major influence on our development as a species. First one covered, and covered in some depth, is our first friend. She says that our relationship could perhaps date as far back as thirty five to forty thousand years. Whether those were dogs as we would recognise them or be more like the European grey wolf I don't know. Before cattle, sheep, grain all of which she continues to cover. Highly recommend it.
