Here's a tip to avoid or break social-media addiction on the big commercial sites:

Read only posts by people you follow, about people you follow.

Skip all the so-called "viral" stuff that commercial sites force into your feed. Skip all the links your friends were tricked into sharing.

Read only posts they've written in their own voice, and photos or videos they took themselves. Unfollow anyone posting AI-generated content. Get your news headlines somewhere else (like the news orgs' websites or RSS feeds).

These companies are spending hundreds of billions of dollars figuring out how to keep you addicted, so it's an uphill battle. It's ok to get counselling if it's too hard to do on your own. Best of luck! 💪
