@paulk In fairness to the customer, Apple doesn't exactly make it *obvious* how to restart an iPhone. Sure, it's reasonably easy to do when you know how, but initial discovery of how to do it... that's quite a different matter.
@mkj I asked her to check with a coworker. They all (30+ people) use iphones for work and they "couldn't help her". In the end I located a youtube video demonstrating how to do it.
She managed it after 4 attempts.
