RSGB mailing list full of people ranting about how plug-in solar is going to cause house fires everywhere... if only they'd seen the standard of work from some "MCS accredited" installers.
@philpem
I do wonder about the brain capacity of a lot of the RSGB membership.
As I've said before it's an organisation well past its best, and that may be true of many members.

@MikeFromLFE Yep... I expect I'll probably be cancelling when my subscription's up. I kept it for the QSL bureau but most people have moved online.

I think unfortunately over time spaces become like that. The people who don't care for the negative attitudes quietly leave over time.

@philpem @MikeFromLFE You wouldn't be the first I've heard about recently. Mind, there's an actual election for Board membership this year, with three candidates standing for two places. I sort-of suspect the one who loses out might end up being co-opted, though.
@hrrunka @MikeFromLFE I've heard it a lot myself from fellow hams. It'll be interesting seeing what changes happen but I won't hold my breath.
I particularly thought ETCC quoting a rulebook which was buried on their site last year was quite hostile.
@philpem the fuck does the RSGB know about plug in solar?
@ret the same as they know about everything electronic, it causes radio interference and should be banned
