Camelia at its peak of pink!

@Janet_52square Gorgeous! I think we have the same variety in our garden, it’s jammed right at the back though so I’m going to take some cuttings this year.
@aegir This was here before us so I have no clue as to the variety. I don’t usually choose shocking pink but I wouldn’t dig it out for being a diva!
@Janet_52square Ours is the same, here before us and probably not a colour I’d have picked. But, it’s here and fabulous, so there are a lot more pink flowers in the garden to go with it!
@Janet_52square just lovely! I’m building a model in my head of your climate based entirely on your photos of what grows well for you and when it flowers. You must ever get the extremes of cold we do. Could never have camellias outside here.

@IcooIey Yes we have wet warm summers, wet cool autumns, wet cold winters and wet mild springs not always in that order!!!

But recent weather patterns much less reliable (see global climate etc).

@Janet_52square
ohhh this reminds me of home. our old landlord (to whose house our cottage was attached) had a slightly redder one growing all up over his door. it was lovely!
@Janet_52square Wow! Our red one is just getting started, maybe another day or two before it will be in its full glory ...
