Jenica Lake เหล็ถเลถ@cmccullough if a pill could make you more productive at work and gave you access to skills you otherwise didn't have and gave you a satisfying and engaging conversation, but the same pill was burning the planet and water and causing cognitive decline and psychosis in even 10% of users, the pill would be banned.
Enola Knezevic@MamaLake @cmccullough Not just that, even modafinil is prescription only (and impossible to get in Europe unless you have narcolepsy). They made piracetam a prescription-only drug when it turned out it did something. Guess they would make caffeine prescription-only if they didn't fear riots.
The difference? GenAI makes workers stupid, easier to control, while promising to replace them.
