Here's what you need to know about Trump trying to end birthright citizenship before the Supreme Court on April 1.

In short, if birthright citizenship falls, the entire American experiment fails. SCOTUS must uphold the constitution & protect birthright citizenship.

If Birthright Citizenship Falls—The American Experiment Fails

@QasimRashid I'm still not clear how the SG telling the Court "nuh-uh it doesn't" changes anything about what the Constitution clearly says, but I have confidence the Roberts Court can find a way if they really really want to.
@count_01 @QasimRashid
Do Musk and Trump’s own kids lose their citizenship if this goes down? Not clear
@AccordionBruce Of course not; they're rich. This case is strictly intended to make life hard for poor, non-white folks, not people who matter. @QasimRashid
@QasimRashid When the 14th Amendment was passed, quite a few African Americans were "illegal aliens": the transatlantic slave trade (but not slavery) was outlawed in 1807, with a January 1, 1808 start date, but that didn't stop it, so African Americans who were brought here anyway were technically here illegally (through no fault of their own). Congress surely knew this was going on when the 14th Amendment passed, so the intent must have been to make children of "illegal aliens" citizens.
@QasimRashid it's literally the cornerstone of what makes America great.

@QasimRashid

The American political system is broken. Prove me wrong.
