We were in Broome for cyclone Rosita in April 2000. I'm seeing the same bright overcast sky with bouts of stillness alternating with bursts of gusty wind. Local weather is hot and (for Perth) oppressive. Not as hot as Broome was but hot enough.

About 30% of the sky on the Eastward side has cleared and there is a fistful cool breeze making things more livable.
