Wow, I don't think I've ever had a poll attract the attention of the boosting bots before, let alone more than one! Well done me! And thanks everyone else for boosting and making it possible!
Two days in and it looks like there's a clear winner, ironically my least favorite of these. Oh I still like them. I just like all the others more.
@Fragglemuppet how are parsnips not sweeping this?
@Rhube I know, right?
@Fragglemuppet I get that sweet potatoes are also pretty good, but beets? Like, they're fine, but they're no parsnips!
@Rhube And after 40 years I just started to like turnip last year. The key is to eat it sliced instead of mashed.
@Fragglemuppet I have used turnip chopped in curry and the like, but I find them too much work for something relatively bland. I don't dislike them, I would just rather eat something else.
@Rhube Yeah, they're hard to get just right.
@Fragglemuppet very happy to see all the pro-parsnip replies despite it not leading the poll, we are few but we are here!! I was heartbroken when Trader Joe's stopped selling parsnip chips, the only other brand I know that makes them (Hardbite) is Canadian so I don't have access... maybe some day Terra will listen to our cries to offer them alone instead of as part of a mix, but I doubt it.
@Fragglemuppet writing in “celeriac”
@chad Don't think I've ever had that one.
@Fragglemuppet I think I learned from a meal service or a CSA box, and have only found them at one fancypants grocery in Chicago. They look rough but taste like a celery potato kinda thing

Carrots, potatoes... Do onion and garlic count?
@Mux Well sure. Actually I didn't know garlic was a root but it makes sense. But I didn't add the others because I figured everyone would pick them.
@Fragglemuppet
Then why is sweet potato in there? 😆😆😆
@Mux Because it's not a regular potato and I know a lot of people don't like it. Well I thought so, anyway, but this poll is proving me wrong. Anyway, I didn't like it myself for most of my life, and it's still not my favorite.
