Nicaraguan asylum seeker in limbo after Arkansas ICE check-in leads to detention

Immigration authorities arrested more than 2,500 people in Arkansas from the start of last year through October. Sixty percent of that group, like Little Rock resident Meslier Salinas, had no criminal convictions. Many, including Salinas, were arrested while checking in with immigration authorities as part of the legal process of seeking asylum.
