You never saw my Hobbes.
I would come home in the evening, run into my room, hop on the bed, and he would come into the room, purring like a maniac, climb over me and start vigorously cleaning his sabertooth on my chin.
My previous cat was like a small child that can't bear to be away from his dad. #Mira is like a teenaged daughter that thinks I'm the lamest thing since non-sliced bread*. 😒
The real kicker is that friends will come to visit and she'll come and sit on their lap. The most she does is allow me to pet her, if and only if she's in her comfortable spot.
* said from a teenager's perspective. I don't care about pre-sliced bread. Gimme some bread with character, any day.
I think Hobbes seriously spoiled my expectations of what a cat relationship could be. He was a super emotional creature. She just wants to be chill, and "not bovvered." (not bothered)
It kinda hurts when she is affectionate towards others, but ducks under the chair when I approach. 😆
Cat parenting, man.
@rl_dane @dm our two are also very different. Girls seem to be more moody; I wanted to say Čara🐈⬛ good morning earlier and got hit, perhaps she confused me with Malik🐈⬛ even though she did have her eyes open and on him and he was on the floor and she on the table. She can be a cuddlebug but lives more like a roommate with benefits, whereas he’s more clingy and just wants to lie near his daddy, if not on him.
Yeah, cat parenting…
My aunt tried to warn me about being a cat dad to a female cat. Unfortunately, I had been watching a couple youtubers with abnormally clingy female cats. :P
Hobbes would literally come to me from clear across my grandma's enormous house whenever I whistled.
@rl_dane @dm oh, Čara🐈⬛ was totally helpful getting used to be a catdad in the first place, took me the better part of a year. I had to learn how to even lift her and everything. I doubt another cat would have made me as happy as first cat.
Just don’t expect your children, biological or not, to be all alike, and love them anyway.
