Meta is laying off hundreds of workers so they can claim that their revenues are growing despite a whole chain of poor Zucky decisions that resulted in an enormous amount of expenditure on a series of boondoggles that proved to be utterly unprofitable.

The whole maneuver is such a scam that in any just world Mark would be jailed for fraud. Instead he gets another few million in paper wealth from juicing the stock price while his employees pay for his mistakes.
