I was supposed to bring this up when the news first hit, then I forgot.
But when I saw people that Starfleet Academy was trending, I assumed people were talking about the 1997 Star Trek Simulation Game...

This is another one of those games I played a lot with my Dad and have loads of fond memories of it. I really should play this again!

I played through the story at least twice from memory, as there are a few branching paths in the dialogue.

Ultimately I settled on the Klingons being afraid of me, so when you hail them at the start of the mission they are like, "Oh no! It's Captain Forrester! We don't stand a chance!" And they warp out of the system.

I recall you get dragged across the coals by the Academy, but I believe that you reason there is no such thing as an impossible situation and the simulations are presented as puzzles and cheating is just being inventive with solutions or something like that.
This is in part why I want to play the game again, so I can appreciate the game a bit more.
